Por fin el anuncio de UFC

Pues ya el día de ayer al fin se dio el anuncio tan esperado de UFC. No fue venta de la empresa, contrato televisivo, ni se firmo contrato con ningún peleador, que esto era lo que se rumoraba en los últimos días. Fue una noticia no tan grande como se esperaba. Se trato de que Lorenzo Fertitta renunciaba como presidente de los Station Casinos para dedicarse 100% a UFC y así poder hacer crecer mas la compañia a nivel global.

Según Dana White quien todavía es presidente de UFC esto no significa que estén descontentos con su trabajo. Sino que obedece al rápido crecimiento que ha mostrado la compañía y que por ende requiere mas atención y tiempo.

“The problem, if there is a problem, is that the business has gotten so successful, it’s requiring more time, focus and attention,” Fertitta said. “Station Casinos is a business my family and I have built and now it’s a multi-billion dollar company. But the reality is, the UFC has gone through so much growth in the last eight years, my brother and I felt we’d be better in divide and conquer mode. He’ll stay at Station Casinos and take care of that and I’ll come over here and work on the issues involving the UFC.”

Como comenta Kevin Iole en su articulo esto no son grandes noticias para la gente en Internet (para el es el “biggest day in UFC history”), efectivamente no considero que esto tenga gran trascendencia y me hace pensar en lo que se ha estado diciendo acerca de este anuncio. Que realmente tenían algún contrato de televisión o algo por el estilo que no se logro y a final de cuentas se sacaron esto de la manga.
