El sábado pasado Golden Boy Promotions anunció que va a co-promover eventos donde haya combates de MMA y Boxeo, junto con Affliction. Bajo este acuerdo Affliction fabricará una linea de camisetas para los eventos de Golden Boy y también será la marca de ropa oficial de Ring Magazine.
Ha habido mucho debate acerca de si esto es bueno o malo para Affliction y las MMA. Creo que las MMA van a ganar mucha exposición. Pero Affliction (como promotores de MMA) se están disparando en el pie. Ya que esto estará dando ante los fans, la impresión de ser una empresa de bajo nivel al lado de los grandes como UFC y DREAM. Esto aunque el evento sea de excelente calidad y que en el fightcard haya nombres como los de Fedor, Arlovski, etc.
Creo que muchos coincidirán conmigo cuando digo que MMA y Box aunque son muy parecidos y los dos utilizan ring, son deportes muy diferentes. Se que la intención de esta alianza es juntar a los aficionados de los dos, pero pregúntenle a un fan del Fútbol si después del medio tiempo en un partido le gustaría ver algunos innings de Beisbol.
A mi se me haría muy difícil ver un evento de estos sin cambiarle de canal cuando empiece el Boxeo.

The partnership includes:
* For major Golden Boy Promotions fights, Affliction will create a signature Affliction shirt sold on-site and at retail outlets nationwide.
* Affliction will become the official apparel licensee for the Golden Boy Enterprises-owned Ring Magazine, and will adorn t-shirts and other apparel with the iconic Ring logo and classic Ring Magazine covers.
* Golden Boy Promotions and Affliction Entertainment will promote events that will feature both first class boxing matches as well as top notch MMA bouts on the same cards with the inaugural event planned for 2009.

Estoy de acuerdo contigo, por ejemplo: a mi me gusta mas la mma y a mi me cuesta trabajo ver eventos donde hay peleas de mma y despues me ponen unas de muay thai o viceversa.
Pero bueno tambien estan compañias pueden sorprendernos con los eventos!!
