Emelianenko vs Lesnar

La gente de M-1 a través de su vicepresidente Jerry Millen, ha expresado interés en realizar la pelea entre Fedor Emelianenko y el actual campeón pesado de UFC Brock Lesnar. Ofrecen que sea una co-producción entre UFC, M-1 y Affliction. Aclaran que siguen interesados en una pelea contra Couture.
Dicen que UFC va a tratar de posicionar a Lesnar como el mejor peso pesado del mundo y creen que para UFC es mas barato, utilizar el mercadeo para etiquetar a un peleador como el mejor. En lugar de pagarle al mejor (refiriéndose a Emelianenko). Agregan que reconocen a Lesnar como gran atleta y peleador talentoso. Pero no creen que en este momento pueda pasar del 1er round frente a Fedor.

M-1 would like to congratulate Brock Lesnar on his UFC heavyweight title victory as well as acknowledge Randy Couture’s return to active competition after a layoff that lasted over a year.
Couture and WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko had publicly acknowledged a desire to fight each other multiple times over the course of the past year. While M-1 and Fedor remain interested in a match against Couture, we would also like to publicly state for the record that we would welcome a superfight between Fedor and Lesnar that would be held as a co-promoted event between the UFC, M-1, and Affliction Entertainment.
We’ve invited the media to speak with us today to not only make it clear we would welcome a Fedor vs. Lesnar matchup, but to act in a preemptive fashion to address the possibility that UFC officials will try and position Lesnar as the number one heavyweight in the world, much like they have tried to use a marketing ploy to brand Anderson Silfva as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
In the past, UFC president Dana White and Zuffa, LLC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta have tried to claim that Fedor was “overrated” and that his “record was irrelevant.” They make these claims in spite of the fact that Fedor holds career victories over UFC champions past and present. While we have tremendous respect for the contributions Mr. Fertitta and Dana have made to this sport, we do not believe they are sincere in their statements.
It is the position of M-1 that the UFC has adopted an anti-Fedor policy because multiple attempts to sign him have not been fruitful. For a company that has tried to market itself as the number one promotion in the world, they are unable to accept the fact that the number one fighter in the world does not reside on its roster of contracted fighters.
We believe that the UFC has determined that it’s much more inexpensive for them to use their marketing resources to use smoke and mirrors to brand a fighter as the pound-for-pound best as opposed to actually paying the pound-for-pound best what he is truly worth on the open market.
While Brock Lesnar is an accomplished athlete and a talented fighter, we do not consider him to be the number one heavyweight in the world. Until someone beats him, we strongly believe that Fedor should continue to be recognized as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. In a match between Fedor and Lesnar, we do not feel that at this stage Lesnar would be able to make it out of the first round.
For those who feel our statements in regards to Fedor are self-serving, we’d like to refer you to a video interview on the website RawVegas.tv in which at his UFC 91 after-party Couture himself acknowledges that “Fedor would probably tear Brock up at this point.”

Es una muy buena idea,sin dudas Lesnar es el peleador del momento pero dudo que UFC quiera realizar un evento en concordancia con AFFLICTION.
Aparte Lesnar debe enfrentar al ganador de MINO-MIR por la unificacion de los titulos.
Si, yo también veo muy difícil que UFC y Affliction pudieran llegar a hacer algo.
Seria una buena pelea pero es imposble su realizacion sin que antes fedor firme con ufc un contrato, no puede fedor derrotar a lesnar y seguir en affliction dana no lo permitiria aparte que quieren inflar a brock lesnar como el mejor del mundo.

Si se llevaria ese combate Fedor acabaria con Lesnar en el 1 er Round, y eso la UFC lo sabe,por lo tanto pra la ufc mejor sera no llevar esa lucha para proteger a Lesnar y tenerlo como Campeon de los Pesos Pesados. Todo es Dinero
i suppose and believe that lesnar can really beats and taps out of the ring fedor at any time if there is a possibility of fight of the two guys. brock lesnar is wrestler but he can prove his ability in any ring .
Pienso q en estos momentos lesnar no le ganaria a fedor, pero quisiera ver en unos 2 años mas para q bean q si le gana. lesnar acaba de empesar y no tiene la experiencia de fedor pero sin duda en un tiempo mas lesnar lo destrozaria. y el UFC no asepta la co-produccion porque sabe q affliction no ba a durar mucho y a fedor no le va a quedar de otra mas q firmar con el ufc
Lesnar tiene mucho potencial, seria una excelente pelea.
Todavía es incierto el futuro de Affliction pero si llegara a cerrar, no creo que no le quede de otra a Fedor. A veces por la cercanía que tenemos con los Estados Unidos y como lo que nos llega de MMA es principalmente de UFC y WEC, tendemos a pensar que UFC es la única empresa grande en el mundo. Pero también existe FEG (K-1/DREAM), empresa que es bastante grande en el mercado asiático y que tiene interés en Fedor sin necesidad de un contrato exclusivo.
A lesnar le falta mucho, es un tipo muy rudo y su entrenamiento le ha rendido frutos, pero no es económicamente conveniente realizar un evento de este calibre, por lo menos no en este momento.
Recordemos que Lesnar no tiene tanta experiencia en MMA como Fedor, además si se unifican tres empresas de esa talla para un evento (mas que nada mercadológico) en el que se quiere alzar a un peleador que no tiene el nivel, los resultados para la empresa aportadora de dicho peleador serían desastrozos, ¿o ya se les olvidó lo que pasó con Elite XC cuando trató de hacer esto con Kimbo?
